It is recommended that you have your child examined as early as age seven. At that young age, we can detect (and correct) issues in the least invasive way that could later cause trouble when kids reach their teen years. In fact, early treatment can literally improve their facial features for life and save everyone involved the financial and emotional expense often associated with problems that go unchecked.
Although treatment may not begin at this age, it is wise to bring your child in for an initial exam, and Dr. Prose will then continue to monitor your child's dental development on a 6 month observation schedule. These visits are a courtesy to our families and are done at no charge. Any necessary photos or x-rays needed in our office, or future check-up visits with us are also done as a courtesy service to you until a point in time when treatment is determined. We are one of the few orthodontic practices in this area who handle pre-orthodontics guidance at this comprehensive level.
